Retrofittable Solutions Capability for Gas Turbine Compressors

The increasing introduction of renewable energy capacity has changed the perspective on operation conventional power plants, introducing necessity reaching extreme off-design conditions. There is a strong interest in development and optimization technologies that can be retrofitted to an existing plant enhance flexibility as well increase performance lower emissions. Under framework European project TURBO-REFLEX, typical F-class gas turbine compressor designed manufactured by Ansaldo Energia been studied. Numerical analyses were performed using TRAF code, which state-of-the-art 3D CFD RANS/URANS flow solver.
